About Us
Formed in 2011, Currency Assist is a foreign exchange treasury that specializes in international money transfers.
The business idea was born out of a vision to be a business that brings transparency to our clients. We do this by disclosing and demystifying the profit margins that are hidden in rates of exchange. The Banks, on the other hand, have no obligation or inclination in disclosing profit margins in rates of exchange offered to clients, and, instead, draw their clients' attention to commissions and fees.
We also pride ourselves in offering a boutique service that embraces technology, and by so doing make it easier and faster for clients to transact with their international money transfers.
Ras
Currency Assist is the brainchild of Ras. He brings a wealth of legal, brokering and forex experience to Currency Assist. His vision, relationships in the finance world, and business insight is the core foundation Currency Assist
Frederik
Frederik is a qualified actuary working in the Insurance, Banking and Hedge Fund industry. He focusses on some of the more complex forex transactions, such as SARB approvals and Financial Emigration
Paul
Paul runs our dealing room. Paul started his career in Marketing Management, but he quickly moved into financial management. He now has more than a decade of experience in the financial industry.
Sonja
With a career in forex and banking spanning almost three decades, Sonja is a key member of our dealing room
Didi
A core addition to the team, Didi focusses on relationships and brings everything together to ensure an efficient service and happy clients.
Lisa
Lisa has a background in construction, administration and property. She spent some time on the trading desk at Currency Assist, but more recently her focus has shifted to onboarding, and the improvement and streamlining of processes.
